A native American warrior bronze bust sculpture of what might be a member of the Apache tribe who live in the South Western part of the United States.  The Apache people were known as fierce warriors and strategists ever since they first encountered the White man in the 1600 whether fighting the Spanish and later Mexican soldiers or later during the American-Indian wars fighting the US Army.  This bronze bust of a Native American is of an elderly warrior who by looking at his expression and deep facial lines looks like a battle-worn fighter.

The Dahlgren bowie knife bayonet is a Civil War era Union US Navy bayonet designed by Admiral John Dahlgren for use with the Plymouth/Whitneyville Model M1861 Rifle, and made by the Ames Manufacturing Company of Chicopee Massachusetts.  The Dahlgren Bowie bayonet's new design's intention was to replace the then-standard sword length bayonet with a more maneuverable bayonet for Navy purposes such as close quarters combat in ships, boarding actions, shore landings, and others and for use as either a traditional bayonet or a hand held edged weapon bulky enough to defend against swords and the heavy rifles used at the time. US Civil War Model 1840 Light Artillery Saber By Ames

This model 1840 light artillery sabre was manufactured by US contract by Ames Manufacturing Co. of Chicopee, Massachusetts and in 1863 5,300 of these sabers were manufactured. This sword is marked "A.D.K. on ricasso, which are the initials of the inspector A.D. King.  The grip is covered with leather and wound with brass wire.  The scabbard is metal and since identified as the type 2 it has a ring around the mouth of the scabbard, the type 1 doesn't.  Unlike the Model 1840 heavy cavalry saber the this artillery model 1840 has no basket guard.  The American model 1840 light artillery sabre was designed after the French model 1829 mounted artillery sabre.

L'Armurier or The Arm's Maker by Henryk Kossowski Jr. is a beautiful French bronze sculpture depicting a swordsmith inspecting his work and wondering about its quality.  The statue is beautifully cast and detailed as were many of the works done at the Siot-Decauville and sculpted by Henryk Kossowski Jr. who was active during the years of 1880-1915.  This swordsmith sculpture is featured in the book “Bronzes: Sculptors and Founders, Vol. II“ on page 379, where it is identified as “L'Armurier“ or “The Arm's Maker“. It is bronze with golden gild and shown with the edge of his work bench and clamp beside his leg.  The sword itself is in tact, which in many cases is either broken or missing. The sculpture is signed by the artist in the base "H. Kossowski" and marked by the Siot-Decauville foundry "II 251". The Motherland Calls or in literal translation from Russian: Homeland-Mother Is Calling! is a statue of a woman stepping forward with a raised sword representing the Soviet or Russian Motherland calling on its sons and daughters to repulse the enemy and return to the attack.  This Soviet era sculpture which started construction in May 1959 and completed on 15 October 1967 is the compositional center of the monument-ensemble "Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad" on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Russia.  It was designed by sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich and structural engineer Nikolai Nikitin, and declared the tallest statue in the world in 1967 when complete.  At 85 m (279 ft), it is the tallest statue in Europe, the tallest outside of Asia and the tallest statue (excluding pedestals) of a woman in the world. This Motherland Calls sculpture by Yevgeny Vuchetich is a beautiful representation of Soviet art with an art nuevo twist.
