Israeli Mauser K98 Wild Heerbrugg Scope with Mount and Case

Super rare Israeli military surplus Mauser K98 Wild Heerbrug 4×30 scope with mount, adapters, sights zeroing key (which in itself is extremely hard to find as these have usually been lost) and original case.  All are marked by Israeli military IDF markings.  These are one of the rarest military surplus scopes that any militaria collector would love to add to his collection.  The Israel Defense Forces used the German Mauser K98 rifles, by bringing them through Czechoslovakia after WW2, mainly during the war of Independence in 1948 up to the early 1970’s when used by Israeli snipers in the Suez Canal fortifications known as the Bar-Lev Line. The K98 was later replaced by the Uzi, FN FAL, Galil as the main fighting weapons.  Only 200 were known to be produced for the Israeli military.

This set of IDF Wild Heerbrug Mauser K98 4×30 rifle scope, IDF K98 Mauser mount and special adapters come with the original tin case and all are in very good condition.  A real rare find!

Israeli Defense Force (IDF) K98 sniper scope mount adapter for the Nimrod 6x40 mm scopes probably from the late 1970's to early 1980's.  These were made by IMI (Israel Military Industries).  The IDF used FN made Mauser K98 rifles in the 1948 War of Independence where the olive drab 4x Wild-Heerbrugg scope was used in a unique Israeli-made claw type mount.  Later on the optic was replaced by more modern ones such as the Nimrod and an adapter was needed to accommodate it. An antique Indian Nepalese Gurkha Kukri knife made with intricate metalwork of decorative beads and white metal (maybe silver) with a beautiful design of two angels, flowers and other shapes on the leather scabbard covered with red velvet.  The handle is made of yak or ox bone and is decorated as well.  metal filigree and bead decorated leather scabbards dating from the 19th century. The knives have quality hand forged single edge very sharp steel curved blades mounted with ox bone handles and accompanied with two smaller similar handled sharpening knives.  The scabbard shows very well the hand stitching and has two straps that would have connected this Gurkha kukri knife to a belt. The blade is in excellent condition and is marked: "Tempered Steel/Made In India" It is probably made in the late 19th century to early 20th century. A Caucasus kinjal dagger made of a bone handle, leather scabbard and decorated with beautiful silver ornaments.  This is a double edged dagger with a single groove on the blade.  The upper ring around the scabbard has three letters in possibly Georgian written on it.  In Georgia where it is parts of the men's national traditional costume this dagger is called a khanjali.  The kinjal was also a dagger used by many of the different Cossack groups spread throughout the Russian empire and especially in the Caucasus region. This U.S.S. Maine Memorial Brass Plaque commemorates the explosion and sinking of the ship in Havana harbor, Cuba, at 9:40 on the evening of February 15, 1898 causing the deaths of 250 out of 355 sailors on board.  It is this incident that triggered the Spanish-American war that spread from the Caribbean to the Philippines ending up in American dominance over those regions. USS Maine memorial brass plaque features the following writing and markings: "In Memoriam / U.S.S. Maine / Destroyed in Havana Harbor / February 15th 1898 / This tablet is cast from metal recovered from the U.S.S. Maine." The lower right corner is stamped "© C. KECK Sc. / 1913 Cast By / Jno. Williams Inc. / N.Y." The bottom edge is stamped 1305. On the back top left corner: "Tablet No 1305 / Charles Keck, Sculptor / Cast By / Jno Williams Inc. / Bronze Foundry / New York / 1913."
