Israeli Mauser K98 Wild Heerbrugg Scope with Mount and Case

Super rare Israeli military surplus Mauser K98 Wild Heerbrug 4×30 scope with mount, adapters, sights zeroing key (which in itself is extremely hard to find as these have usually been lost) and original case.  All are marked by Israeli military IDF markings.  These are one of the rarest military surplus scopes that any militaria collector would love to add to his collection.  The Israel Defense Forces used the German Mauser K98 rifles, by bringing them through Czechoslovakia after WW2, mainly during the war of Independence in 1948 up to the early 1970’s when used by Israeli snipers in the Suez Canal fortifications known as the Bar-Lev Line. The K98 was later replaced by the Uzi, FN FAL, Galil as the main fighting weapons.  Only 200 were known to be produced for the Israeli military.

This set of IDF Wild Heerbrug Mauser K98 4×30 rifle scope, IDF K98 Mauser mount and special adapters come with the original tin case and all are in very good condition.  A real rare find!

Israeli Defense Force (IDF) K98 sniper scope mount adapter for the Nimrod 6x40 mm scopes probably from the late 1970's to early 1980's.  These were made by IMI (Israel Military Industries).  The IDF used FN made Mauser K98 rifles in the 1948 War of Independence where the olive drab 4x Wild-Heerbrugg scope was used in a unique Israeli-made claw type mount.  Later on the optic was replaced by more modern ones such as the Nimrod and an adapter was needed to accommodate it. The Dahlgren bowie knife bayonet is a Civil War era Union US Navy bayonet designed by Admiral John Dahlgren for use with the Plymouth/Whitneyville Model M1861 Rifle, and made by the Ames Manufacturing Company of Chicopee Massachusetts.  The Dahlgren Bowie bayonet's new design's intention was to replace the then-standard sword length bayonet with a more maneuverable bayonet for Navy purposes such as close quarters combat in ships, boarding actions, shore landings, and others and for use as either a traditional bayonet or a hand held edged weapon bulky enough to defend against swords and the heavy rifles used at the time. This Dahlgren Navy bowie bayonet is one of only 1800 produced between 1861-1864, and this item is marked as produced in 1862. Comes with an unoriginal scabbard. Markings: On ricasso: Side 1: USN D.R 1862. "D.R" initials are of the military inspector at the Ames plant, Daniel Reynolds. An antique Indian Nepalese Gurkha Kukri knife made with intricate metalwork of decorative beads and white metal (maybe silver) with a beautiful design of two angels, flowers and other shapes on the leather scabbard covered with red velvet.  The handle is made of yak or ox bone and is decorated as well.  metal filigree and bead decorated leather scabbards dating from the 19th century. The knives have quality hand forged single edge very sharp steel curved blades mounted with ox bone handles and accompanied with two smaller similar handled sharpening knives.  The scabbard shows very well the hand stitching and has two straps that would have connected this Gurkha kukri knife to a belt. The blade is in excellent condition and is marked: "Tempered Steel/Made In India" It is probably made in the late 19th century to early 20th century. The katar is a punch or push dagger that was used mainly in southern India.  In battle it was used as an armor piercing close combat weapon to punch through chain mail and in civilian life it was worn mainly by nobles who would hunt tigers with the katar (usually one in each hand) to prove their manhood and bravery. This katar has the characteristic V-shaped blade and H-shaped handles.  It is made of steel and silver on the scabbard which is usually hard to find.  It was made around the 1920's or a bit before.
