November 4th is celebrated and commemorated in Italy as the end of World War 1, the day of Armistice at Villa Giusti. Italy lost in WW1 over 500,000 soldiers. This rare bronze plaque was sculpted by one of Milan's most famous sculptures in the early to mid 20th century: Egidio Boninsegna. The memorial plaque depicts an angel carrying to a tomb a half-draped male soldier accompanies by his mourning wife and two children bidding him a final farewell and another man holding the ends of the drape. Both the angel and the fallen soldier show deep, hollowed-out eyes, indicating the suffering and grief caused by the war. The angel is sitting on a slab with the writing Ignoto Militi, the unknown soldier. In the background is a great memorial tomb complete with fluted columns and another frieze of mourning figures. The artist Egidio Boninsegna is best known for the creation of numerous tombs for the Monumental Cemetery and the Musocco Cemetery in Milan. He also sculpted the monument dedicated to the Milanese painter Filippo Carcano in 1915.
This November 4th Italian memorial cast bronze plaque is rare in this excellent condition. It is fastened to a heavy wooden frame.

Pris au Piege par Maxim – Trapped by Maxim
A French Napoleonic soldier sitting on a bench with his wife helping her spin or wind yarn. The title of this sculpture is Pris au Piege which translates to "trapped" as the soldier clearly is with his hands spun with yarn. This work was made by Geo Maxim probably in the 1920's in the art nouveu style of the time, made of patinated zamak alloy and a base made of onyx.

A native American warrior bronze bust sculpture of what might be a member of the Apache tribe who live in the South Western part of the United States. The Apache people were known as fierce warriors and strategists ever since they first encountered the White man in the 1600 whether fighting the Spanish and later Mexican soldiers or later during the American-Indian wars fighting the US Army. This bronze bust of a Native American is of an elderly warrior who by looking at his expression and deep facial lines looks like a battle-worn fighter.

The Bronco Buster by Frederic Remington original bronze sculpture was made in the summer of 1895 and remained the most popular sculpture made by this artist. Frederic Remington (1861-1909) was a sculpture, illustrator and painter that specialized in portraying the American Old West depicting cowboys, settlers, native American tribes, soldiers and wildlife in mainly action scenes. Joan of Arc or Jeanne d'Arc in French (1412 – 30 May 1431) is considered a French heroine for her role in the Hundred Years war against the English occupation of France. Joan of Arc was captured and burnt at the stake by the English. She was later canonized by the Roman Catholic church as a saint.
This beautiful gun grade metal sculpture of Joan of Arc in an art nouveau style shows in great detail her armor and chain of armor suit beneath and her beautiful face expression.
