The Bronco Buster by Frederic Remington original bronze sculpture was made in the summer of 1895 and remained the most popular sculpture made by this artist.  Frederic Remington (1861-1909) was a sculpture, illustrator and painter that specialized in portraying the American Old West depicting cowboys, settlers, native American tribes, soldiers and wildlife in mainly action scenes.  The bronze sculpture of the Bronco Buster was his first three dimensional work of art portraying a rugged Western frontier cowboy fighting to stay on a wild bronco that wants to get him off, with a stirrup swinging free, a short whip in one hand and a fistful of the horse’s mane and reins in the other.

This bronze sculpture of The Bronco Buster by Frederic Remington is a reproduction with the artists signature shown on the base.

The Dying Gaul sculpture is an ancient Roman marble statue now in the Capitoline Museum in Rome and it is a copy of a now lost sculpture from the Hellenistic period (323-31 BC) thought to have been made in bronze and may have been commissioned at some time between 230 and 220 BC by Attalus I of Pergamon to celebrate his victory over the Galatians, the Celtic or Gaulish people of parts of Anatolia (modern Turkey).  The original sculptor is believed to have been Epigonus, a court sculptor of the Attalid dynasty of Pergamon.  The sculpture of the Dying Gaul is also called The Dying Gladiator, The Dying Galatian, Galata Morente in Italian. The sculpture is beautiful in details showing the bleeding wound of the gladiator in his right side ribs from a sword, the veins in his arms, his hair and his overall musculature. The base features an inscription: "Galata Morente/After Pietro Angeletti/1758-1786" Dimensions: Height: 31 cm / 12.20 inches Width: 60 cm / 23.62 inches Weight: 11.9 Kg / 26.23 lbs.

Or best offer Saint Barbara was an early Christian martyr worshiped by mainly Catholics who face danger of sudden and violent death at work.  She is the patron saint of artillery and explosives professions, armorers and gunsmiths, military engineers, miners and tunnelers.  This statue of Saint Barbara features the main items associated with her story: the three windowed tower, a cannon and a branch. This statue of Saint Barbara is one of two known to be made as a special commissioned work for the Czech Skoda company.  Skoda started in 1859 as an arms manufacturing company, later a producer of bicycles, motorcycles, cars and trucks.  During World War 2 and Nazi Germany's occupation of Czechoslovakia, the Skoda factory was under control of Reichswerke Hermann Göring and served as producers of artillery parts, aircraft, firearms and ammunition components.  This statue is thought to be presented to the Nazi officers who controlled the company in 1942.  The statue is said to be made of artillery grade metal. The small plaque at the base reads: Skodawerke Pilsen, Kreigsjahr 1942. It is in excellent condition. Gaulois by Adolphe Jean Lavergne bronze sculpture of ancient Celtic warrior.  This bronze sculpture of a Gaul warrior, features the Celtic fighter with his helmet, holding his sword in one hand and a leaf in another, axe hanging from his belt and a fur garment covering his groin.  A beautiful depiction of this ancient French Celtic warrior by French sculptor Adolphe Jean Lavergne (1852-1901).  This warrior might be a depiction of Vercingetorix (80 – 46 BC) the Gallic king and chieftain of the Arverni tribe who united the Gauls in a failed revolt against Roman forces during the last phase of Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars.  After surrendering to Caesar and spending almost six years in prison, he was executed in Rome. Or best offer November 4th is celebrated and commemorated in Italy as the end of World War 1, the day of Armistice at Villa Giusti.  Italy lost in WW1 over 500,000 soldiers.  This rare bronze plaque was sculpted by one of Milan's most famous sculptures in the early to mid 20th century: Egidio Boninsegna.  The memorial plaque depicts an angel carrying to a tomb a half-draped male soldier accompanies by his mourning wife and two children bidding him a final farewell and another man holding the ends of the drape.  Both the angel and the fallen soldier show deep, hollowed-out eyes, indicating the suffering and grief caused by the war. The angel is sitting on a slab with the writing Ignoto Militi, the unknown soldier.  In the background is a great memorial tomb complete with fluted columns and another frieze of mourning figures.  The artist Egidio Boninsegna is best known for the creation of numerous tombs for the Monumental Cemetery and the Musocco Cemetery in Milan. He also sculpted the monument dedicated to the Milanese painter Filippo Carcano in 1915. This November 4th Italian memorial cast bronze plaque is rare in this excellent condition.  It is fastened to a heavy wooden frame.
