A small art nouveau bronze bust of a woman on stand by sculptor Prof. Amedeo Neri and cast by Aktien-Ges. Vorm. H. Gladenbeck & Sohn signed 1902.  The words “Aktien-Ges. Vorm. H. Gladenbeck & Sohn” translate as “Aktien Company, formerly H. Gladenbeck & Son.” The company made monumental statues as well as smaller figures in bronze.  The company was located in Berlin and operated from 1851 to 1926.

Joan of Arc or Jeanne d'Arc in French (1412 – 30 May 1431) is considered a French heroine for her role in the Hundred Years war against the English occupation of France.  Joan of Arc was captured and burnt at the stake by the English.  She was later canonized by the Roman Catholic church as a saint. This beautiful gun grade metal sculpture of Joan of Arc in an art nouveau style shows in great detail her armor and chain of armor suit beneath and her beautiful face expression.  She is wearing a golden laurel, holding a sword in her right hand and spear in her left.  At the base her helmet and crossbow can be seen. Beautiful Pompeian Bronze Company Bookends of the "The Sculptor" from 1920's in art deco/nouveau style.  These bookends were made by the Pompeian Bronze Company of Brooklyn, NY during the 1920's.  They copyrighted this set as named "The Sculptor" in 1921.  Each bookend features an ancient Greek style nude figure wearing the traditional cloth and holding a mallet in his right hand. These bookends are made probably of spelter and are in very good condition considering that they are now 100 years old. This is a rare display of an 1899 advertisement poster from the theatre play Jeanne D'Arc played by French stage actress Sarah Bernhard, at one point in time she was considered the most famous actress in the world, and illustrated by Swiss artist Eugene Grasset, credited in introducing the Art Nouveau style to the United States.  The display features from left to right the black and white plate, the brass printing plate and the advertisement itself in full color.  This is a rare and unique find since these items are hardly sold together. The plaque at the bottom reads: Jeanne D'Arc - 1899 Vintage French Poster - Gicle'e Print This vintage French poster is an example of "Affiche Artistic", advertising Sarah Bernhardt's performance in Jeanne D'Arc.  The artist was Eugene Grasset and the poster was published in 1899. Warsaw Ghetto is a cast bronze brutalist style sculpture by Kenneth Treister, architect of the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach in Florida.  The sculpture is a depiction of the famous photograph in which the last surviving Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising were taken out of a bunker and surrendered to the Nazi troops.  The Warsaw Ghetto uprising occurred from the 19th of April to the 16th of May 1943, in which about 13,000 Jews were killed and German casualties were 150.  The photograph has been one of the most iconic depicting the Holocaust and one of the most influential in the 20th century. This Warsaw Ghetto sculpture by Kenneth Treister is of the first and original batch of bronze plaques signed in the back and is 122/150 made on August 1969. L'Armurier or The Arm's Maker by Henryk Kossowski Jr. is a beautiful French bronze sculpture depicting a swordsmith inspecting his work and wondering about its quality.  The statue is beautifully cast and detailed as were many of the works done at the Siot-Decauville and sculpted by Henryk Kossowski Jr. who was active during the years of 1880-1915.  This swordsmith sculpture is featured in the book “Bronzes: Sculptors and Founders, Vol. II“ on page 379, where it is identified as “L'Armurier“ or “The Arm's Maker“. It is bronze with golden gild and shown with the edge of his work bench and clamp beside his leg.  The sword itself is in tact, which in many cases is either broken or missing. The sculpture is signed by the artist in the base "H. Kossowski" and marked by the Siot-Decauville foundry "II 251".
