Japanese M1889 Type 32 Cavalry Sabre Sword Gunto

The Japanese Model 1889 Type 32 cavalry sabre has a machined blade with katana-like tip and was manufactured at the Kokura Arsenal according to the marks on the guard.  The sword was in service during the Russo-Japanese War, World War One and World War Two.  Two patterns of the Type 32 were produced, the earlier one known as ‘Ko,’ was issued to cavalry NCOs. The second pattern known as ‘Otsu,’ was issued to army transport NCOs and soldiers and was shorter.  This sword for sale is an early ‘Ko’ pattern Type 32 cavalry sabre produced with the distinctive leather finger loop, checkered grips and with a slightly different opening to the scabbard. The sword is complete with its steel scabbard with a single hanger-ring, a working locking-catch, and a clearly marked serial number on the ricasso of the blade "73475".   Dimensions: Length with scabbard: 100 cm (39.37 inches) Length without scabbard: 96 cm (37.79 inches)

Indian Katar Dagger With Scabbard

The katar is a punch or push dagger that was used mainly in southern India.  In battle it was used as an armor piercing close combat weapon to punch through chain mail and in civilian life it was worn mainly by nobles who would hunt tigers with the katar (usually one in each hand) to prove their manhood and bravery. This katar has the characteristic V-shaped blade and H-shaped handles.  It is made of steel and silver on the scabbard which is usually hard to find.  It was made around the 1920's or a bit before. An authentic Moro Kris short sword from the Southern Philippines.  The Moro Kris is a rugged fighting blade that was mostly used in the Mindanao area of the Philippines.  The hilt, scabbard and blade are decorated with copper or brass decorations and the blade features a serpent or dragon like design.   The Moro people or actually Bangsamoro people, refers to the 13 Islamized ethnolinguistic groups of Mindanao, Sulu, and Palawan regoins.  The Moro fought against the Spanish invaders in the early 1500's using these short swords but the design of the blade itself is actually from pre Islamic influence era.  The wavy blade symbolizes the Naga; a mythical serpentine dragon that was worshipped in the animistic days of Malay history.

A Caucasus kinjal dagger made of a bone handle, leather scabbard and decorated with beautiful silver ornaments.  This is a double edged dagger with a single groove on the blade.  The upper ring around the scabbard has three letters in possibly Georgian written on it.  In Georgia where it is parts of the men's national traditional costume this dagger is called a khanjali.  The kinjal was also a dagger used by many of the different Cossack groups spread throughout the Russian empire and especially in the Caucasus region. Headhunter Mandau Knife Set Of Dayak People Indonesia

This unique tribal weapon is a headhunter's mandau knife set made and used by the Dayak people living in Borneo (Kalimantan in Indonesian), Indonesia.  This mandau knife was used in the headhunting ceremony, where after tribes attached other tribes, they gathered the heads of their enemies to be used in various festivities.  The Mandau knife is both a work of art in itself and a weapon. It consists of a long knife with a dear horn for the handle which is carved ornately and strands of hair (human?).  The scabbard is made of two pieces of wood bound together with rattan and other natural vegetation.  The smaller knife fitted to a long wooden stick which is also decorated, was used to take out the brain out of the skull and other soft tissue of the head as well as sharpening, carving and other general use. German Nazi Third Reich hunting dagger, known in German Hirschfanger (literally dear trapper) made by  Weyersberg & Co., Solingen. The blade is engraved with hunting scenes, hunter with rifle, dear head, vegetation and the motto "Waidmannsheil" (Good hunting).  Bronze and metal mounts depicting animals and forest motifs.  Handle is made of probably deer antler horn.  Scabbard is leather with brass fittings and Swastika on bottom tip.  Overall in very good condition with normal blemishes to due age.  Probably made during the first years of the Third Reich, around 1933.
