This amazing Curule Chair Or Savonarola Chair style comes from an X-design which dates back to Ancient Egypt, Greek and Roman times, the renaissance era and up to the early 1930's.  The word 'curule' being an old Roman word for chariot.  These types of chairs were originally used by persons of high status and were embellished with ivory and precious metals.  This unique chair has carvings of naked women on the arm rests and animal feet in the base, thick leather straps on the seat and back.  The strap in the back has been changed and is more modern.  It was probably made in Italy in the early 1900's.   Dimensions: Total Height: 85 cm (33.46 inches) Width: 72 cm (28.34 inches) Height from floor to seat: 40 cm (15.74 inches)

Vintage Horses And Carriage Decanter With Cups

A vintage set of a liquor decanter with six small cups in a carriage pulled by two horses.  This set is probably European made in the 1970's to 1980's.  Six small cups are hung around the liqueur decanter.  Vibrant blue colors and gold gilding on the horses, decanter and small cups.  The set is in very good condition.  One of the horses has a chipped pin that connects to the carriage, all other pieces are in tact.  The cork of the decanter is shaped and painted like a crown and the bottle itself is painted with a castle and unknown European city scenery.

This Kris or Keris dagger is just one of the many variations of these weapons that differ among the various culture of Indonesia and South East Asia.  This Kris dagger has a bird like figure made of polished bone on the hilt believed to be made by the Bugis people.  The bird maybe the mythical Garuda creature from Hindu, Buddhist and Jain mythology.  The straight blade, as opposed to the wavy blade, may hint that it is an early 19th century make. A characteristic Kris dagger from the island of JAVA in Indonesia.  This kris dagger is dated to about 1870-1890 and is a typical Java Island style with the wavy blade showing the metal grain made of a mixture of meteor iron and forged by folding the metal dozens and even hundreds of times, similar to the technique that Japanese Samurai Katana swords were made in.  This authentic 19th century kris comes with the original carved wood hilt and beautiful wood scabbard that has been overlaid in embossed brass.  The hilt-to-blade fitting is made of copper or brass with some jem-like rocks.
