Original and rare Spanish machete-bayonet for artilleryman and engineering soldier, model 1858, made in Toledo in 1864.  This M1858 Spanish bayonet is in very good to excellent condition and is considered one of the rarest machete bayonets in the world.  The hilt is made of brass and on the pommel a bomb with flames is clearly viewed.  The blade is clean and shiny and in excellent condition for its age with small blemishes.  The ricasso shows the year of manufacturing AÑO DE 1864 engraved on one side. On the other side FABRICA DE TOLEDO (made in Toledo).  Serial number 1284 on the upper grip near the guard.  Unique among Spanish bayonets, and perhaps unique in the world, this Spanish M1858 pattern featured a socket and locking ring mounted on the guard of the bayonet itself to fit the Berdan Artillery & Engineer Short Rifle M1858/67 (Carabina para Artilleria e Ingenieros Modelo 1867). Measurements: Full length: 57 cm. Length of blade: 43.5 cm.

Israeli FN FAL L1A1 Bayonet

Israeli FN FAL L1A1 Bayonet made by IMI (Israeli Military Industries) with the צ (Tzadik) mark sign of the Israeli military on the ricasso.  These hard to find bayonets are in very good condition, each come with their scabbard.  The FN FAL bayonet for the FN FAL L1A1 7.62x51 light automatic rifle has the distinguished two prongs that fit on the rifle's flash hider and the blade profile is a variation of the U.S. M4 bayonet design.  The grips are wood and the scabbard is the standard FN Mauser bayonet scabbard with frog hook design developed in the 1920's. The Dahlgren bowie knife bayonet is a Civil War era Union US Navy bayonet designed by Admiral John Dahlgren for use with the Plymouth/Whitneyville Model M1861 Rifle, and made by the Ames Manufacturing Company of Chicopee Massachusetts.  The Dahlgren Bowie bayonet's new design's intention was to replace the then-standard sword length bayonet with a more maneuverable bayonet for Navy purposes such as close quarters combat in ships, boarding actions, shore landings, and others and for use as either a traditional bayonet or a hand held edged weapon bulky enough to defend against swords and the heavy rifles used at the time. This Dahlgren Navy bowie bayonet is one of only 1800 produced between 1861-1864, and this item is marked as produced in 1862. Comes with an unoriginal scabbard. Markings: On ricasso: Side 1: USN D.R 1862. "D.R" initials are of the military inspector at the Ames plant, Daniel Reynolds. British War Savings Campaign Plaque Set

A set of two British War Savings Campaign plaques of the larger size of 57x33cm, one of Salute The Soldier Week 1944 and Wings For Victory Week 1943.  These are very rarely sold together as a set, in this size and this condition.  The plaques were made by De La Rue Plastics of molded Urea Formaldehyde / White Bakelite.  De Le Rue plastics company of Walthamstow London made the War Savings Campaign plaques for the War Office, and were presented to organizations and various other groups in recognition of efforts made to War Savings once attained certain savings targets. They were not awarded to individuals, so could often be seen displayed in village halls / offices, and community buildings.  The aim was to sponsor military equipment by the homefront civilian community.  Each county was set a target of money to raise and local civic leaders were presented with plaques as a reward for the fund raising efforts. The first plaque is the For Freedom - Salute The Soldier Week of 1944 featuring a British infantry soldier holding his Lee Enfield rifle with mounted bayonet showing explosions and aircraft in the background going to battle.  These were presented by the War Office. The second plaque is the Per Ardua Ad Astra - Wings For Victory Week of 1943 presented by the Air Ministry.  Per Ardua Ad Astra is a Latin phrase meaning "through adversity to the stars" which is the moto of the Royal Air Force.  This plaque features a winged warrior fighting a three-headed monster representing the enemy Axis Powers of Germany, Italy and Japan.  Below that the letter V (for Victory) is shown 5 times in Morse code. Both plaques are in excellent condition!
